Here is the newest entry of the DVD Court over at The Cinematic Katzenjammer!
It was a slow week for new releases:
- The Campaign
- Safety Not Guaranteed
- Ruby Sparks
See what the Court decides for this week!
Also added for this week, new Redbox rentals and the Court of Appeals – new home video releases of movies that aren’t necessarily new.
I loved Safety Not Guaranteed. A vote for a buy from me.
Dun Dun
Because of you and a handful of others, I may have to throw some money at Rosemary’s Baby Criterion…. DAMN
Half off Criterions at Barnes and Noble right now!
i think the premise for “safety not guaranteed” sounds excellent.
Yeah, I really like the premise for that one
hey, i saw “cloud atlas” last night. working on review. very interesting film. beautifully shot.
I’m waffling on whether or not I should go see that one…
I’ve heard that it helps to have read the book first.
i haven’t read the book, so i can’t say either way about that. however, every year there’s a big movie that you know will get oscar buzz and lots of people will be talking about. and usually that same movie is something that needs to be seen on the big screen, not at home. those two reasons are mainly why i saw it. it was just short of 3 hours, and it took me about a half hour to start to get a grasp of what was happening. but it wasn’t disappointing at all. it didn’t seem like 3 hours, so that’s a good sign too. considering your love of movies, you should see it in the theater so you can more accurately reflect on it without possible interruptions that happen at home.
Yeah, I probably will end up seeing it if it stays in theaters long enough. I’d like to see Argo first, for the same reasons you listed haha
Ruby Sparks was great.
Would love to compare reviews for Ruby Sparks and Safety Not Guaranteed. Saw both last week and will get reviews up soon.
I’ve got them both on my to-watch list, so hopefully I’ll have them up sometime soon
