Well, I don’t know about you guys but the month of August pretty much flew by for me (same is going for September too). I watched a lot of classic films in theaters, which was super cool, but other than that August was fairly normal, albeit a bit slow for my movie watching. I also watched my first movie through Steam! I have added a new statistic for August that I still need to go back and repopulate for the year; runtime. Now I can tell exactly how many minutes I’ve wasted enjoyed watching movies.
My goal for August was to dig into my Criterion blu-ray backlog which I didn’t really accomplish (I did get through a few though), but I’ll get to them all eventually.
My August movies watched:
- Gomorrah
- Harold and Maude
- Yi Yi
- Beasts of the Southern Wild
- Wages of Fear
- The Incredibles
- Sorcerer
- Simpsons Movie
- Slaughterhouse-Five
- Goon
- Indie Game: The Movie
- Uncle Buck
- The Great Outdoors
- Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
- Teddy Bear
- ParaNorman
- Jaws
- Jiro Dreams of Sushi
- A Separation
- High Noon
- The Big Lebowski

” Impressive. Most impressive.” ~ Darth Vader
Haha thanks!
You doing the 365 films per year challenge? II did it a few years back, and ended up watching some utter honk to make it.
Any old crap on TV, as I recall.
You know. I should have read the fucking header.
D’oh. In my defense, I’ve been at work for 12 hours.
I’m not sure I would know my own name after working 12 hours these days…
But yeah, 300 shouldn’t be too bad. Maybe next year I’ll feel masochistic and try 365
I say go for 365. Sounds like fun. This is an impressive list yet again. It just boggles my mind to read it. I do think 300 should be something grand. You can’t reach your goal without closing it out big.
I have a few ideas for what movie #300 should be…
Let me guess – Debbie Does Dallas?
Hahaha hadn’t considered that but now that you mention it…
300, for movie 300…
Great stats here, im impressed. A good collection of films for this month.
I had definitely thought about doing 300 just for fun, I may end up doing it still
Very nice. My list was only 3 more than that. I’ve already reviewed 22 Sept movies, so I’ve been busy lol
Jeez, Sept. is going to be my slowest month yet, I fear. I can’t fall behind though.
Hey I can appreciate a guy who picks and chooses his movies, I just review everything (for the most part). I find a DVD release list and get the movies lol
Nice list! What is Steam?
Steam is a computer video game service that just happened to have the movie available as a download.
Very impressive Andy. I have just watched The Sight and Sound’s 10 Greatest Films in 10 days and I found it a real struggle to fit it in!!
